Alberta's Industrial Heartland is Canada's largest hydrocarbon processing region and a key contributor to the provincial and national economy. Our one day annual event is your best opportunity to connect with leaders in industry, government, and non-profit sectors to explore how the region and province is Building Alberta's Innovation and Investment. 

Event Purpose

Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association, a partnership of five municipalities, serves to promote and
coordinate development in the region. As host of the Annual Stakeholder Event, the Association aims to:

  • Report the successes achieved and the challenges ahead

  • Highlight the opportunities for investment and wealth generation by adding value to Alberta's energy resources

  • Provide updates on regional/provincial/national and global economic impacts as they relate to industrial development and growth


Approximately 600 attendees are expected, representing:

  • Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association municipal partners and surrounding communities, including elected regional Mayors, Reeves, Councilors and senior staff

  • Representatives from Edmonton's Capital Region Board

  • Elected and senior staff from Alberta Economic Development and Trade, Alberta Energy, Alberta Infrastructure, Alberta Transportation, Alberta Environment and Parks, and the Government of Canada

  • Senior industry representatives from the Northeast Capital Industrial Association, Strathcona Industrial Association and Leduc/Nisku Economic Development Association

  • Associated industries and organizations including Fort Air Partnership, Chemical Industry Association of Canada, Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, and the Canadian Heavy Oil Association

  • Individuals, associations, and consulting firms who contribute to the goals and objectives of Alberta's Industrial Heartlan

About Event
